12 ways to sparkle on New Year’s Eve

December 18, 2013

If there were ever an occasion to wear sequins, it would be to a New Year’s Eve party. There’s something thrilling about ringing in the new year in a glam and glitzy fashion — and few things are more extravagant than sequins!

Since I moved to Omaha, I tend to be more of a homebody on December 31st, but I used to love dressing up for New Year’s Eve parties at bars and clubs when I lived in New York City and Washington, DC. We actually don’t have any plans for New Year’s Eve yet (uh-oh!), but I imagine I won’t be wearing anything fancier than maternity jeans and a sweater. In all likelihood, I’ll be wearing my pajamas!

Here are some sequined showstoppers I’d be happy to sparkle in if I were to attend a glamorous New Year’s Eve bash instead of sitting home on my sofa. Which could you see yourself wearing?

1. Madewell Dress 2. DKNY Watch 3. butter LONDON Nail Polish (West End Wonderland) 4. J.Crew Pumps 5. Madewell Belt 6. MAC Pigment 7. Anya Hindmarch Clutch 8. MICHAEL Michael Kors Dress

Clockwise: Anthropologie Tee, Ann Taylor Mini Skirt, Alice + Olivia Sweater, Markus Lupfer Pants

These are so fun! Hopefully a NYE celebration will happen this year for me that requires sequins!

What fabulous outfits! While my days of exciting New Years Eves are long over (my kids get up waaaay too early) I might dig out a sequined shirt to wear with my pajama pants 🙂

I think the best I can do this year is glittery nail polish!
