Fall Essentials: Chic slippers from Jacques Levine (and a giveaway!)

November 8, 2013

Here’s something you probably didn’t know about me: I have Raynaud’s.

In simplest terms, cold temperatures or stress can reduce blood flow to my extremities. When that happens, my fingertips may start to tingle or burn, but I primarily feel a Raynaud’s attack in my toes. I have to wear multiple layers of socks with my boots during the winter months because they quickly become numb. Even through my socks, my toes are typically cold to the touch.

Because of my Raynaud’s, warm slippers are a necessity. Luxurious slippers are, well, a luxury!

I recently had the opportunity to slip my size-10 feet into a pair of Jacques Levine shearling-lined velour slippers and instantly felt more chic than when I pad around the house in my oversized Ugg slipper knock-offs.

Heritage footwear brand Jacques Levine has been in the shoe business for more than 75 years. My grandmother used to wear a pair of their Spanish leather wedges, which, as a kid, I thought were the most glamorous slippers ever.

However, I think I’m of a Bel Esprit slipper-type, which were designed with a “witty or clever person” in mind. Fitting, don’t you think?

Bunny and Dolly’s third blogiversary celebration week wraps up with a Jacques Levine giveaway. One lucky reader will win a pair of luxuriously cozy Bel Esprit velour slippers in dark blue — just like mine!

To enter, please follow the instructions in the contest widget below. Good luck!

P.S. — Thank you to Jacques Levine for featuring me on their blog today! If you’d like to know what a typical Saturday morning looks like in my house, click here.

Fine print: Open to U.S. residents only. Please follow the steps in the widget for valid entry. Entries completed incorrectly will be removed. Giveaway value: $98 USD. This giveaway closes at 11:59pm on Thursday, November 14th. One (1) winner will be selected at random and notified by email the next day. The winner has 48 hours to reply before I choose a new winner.

I look forward to nights snuggled up in front of movie marathons with tea and cocoa. Dressing in layers is definitely one of my favorite things.

The cold is really hard on me, but I am looking forward to two weeks off of work when the college I work for is closed. I can’t wait to rest and recuperate, even though it’ll be frigid outside.

The JL slippers, are to die for! The royal blue, ballet skimmers, would make even, my feet seem delicate, they look lovely on you. I must say, that your child’s big blue eyes are gorgeous, enjoy them while they are small, they grow so fast. Happy Holidays and good luck to all!

Sadly, it looks like these have been discontinued, as they are not on the JL site and my email to them has gone unanswered.. I bought 2 pair- in the black and the merlot vielveteen and have loved them! I would have bought the navy too, but they were not available in 8. If anyone has a source for these, PLEASE let me know!!! Many thanks!

snowdays when all the kids are off in my building. We all go sledding and have snowball fights cleaning off cars, ride our plasmacars and trikes in the buildings basement and then have dinner and videos while all the parents sit around and talk
